The Art of Holding On

Like many during Covid, we were limited in where we could go and how to entertain ourselves. At the time, we lived in the suburbs of Philadelphia, surrounded by working farms. One in particular became a favorite spot where we picked Zinnia flowers weekly. The vibrant bursts of color we brought home filled my heart with joy during such uncertain times.

I knew those colors wouldn’t last forever, but what if I tried? For fun, I began incorporating the dried, preserved petals into collages, curious to see what they might become. What started as a simple experiment turned into a way to hold onto something fleeting.
